What’s trending (or not) for 2019 Weddings?

2018 is half over and, believe it or not, a new year is just around the corner!  Our 2019 calendar is filling up fast with weddings and events, and in our excitement to plan them, we decided to check out some of the new wedding trends we could look forward to next year.  To our surprise, we found a lot of popular trends that would be disappearing for 2019!  One of the most shocking trends we might be saying goodbye to next year is white and ivory wedding dresses.  SheFinds Media says that 2019 is going to be a big year for colorful wedding dresses…even some black wedding gowns!

Another trend we may be losing in 2019 is shabby chic décor.  Shabby chic has been very popular over the years with its never-ending supply of mason jars and baby’s breath, but it has definitely run its course in my opinion.  The New Year will also show a switch over to smaller bridal parties, as the experts predict that couples will be opting for a more intimate ceremony.  We’ll also be saying adios to sparkler send-offs, wedding favors and naked cakes.  It should be an interesting year for weddings, and here at the Reading Public Museum, we’re excited to see what new trends 2019 has to offer!

If you’re planning a one-of-a-kind wedding in 2019, don’t forget about us!  Come check out the Stone Terrace Tent, the Neag Planetarium, and our Museum Art Galleries—we have many great options for ceremonies and receptions, both large and small!  Our unique spaces and top-notch customer service, make The Museum the perfect venue for your special day!
